Manicat UI

AI tools

Manicat UI is built to be used from AI coding tools, through the shadcn registry, Markdown docs and a public MCP server.

Manicat UI is built to be used from AI coding tools. Every item is plain source in a shadcn registry, every page has a Markdown version, and the whole library is indexed for assistants.

Registry

An assistant can read the registry index directly, which is enough to resolve dependencies and install an item with the shadcn CLI:

https://manicat.dev/r/registry.json

An individual item, including the full source of every file it needs:

https://manicat.dev/r/button.json

Markdown

Every item page has a Markdown version next to it, at /components/<id>/markdown for a component and /components/blocks/<id>/markdown for a block. The library index for assistants is at /llms.txt, and the whole library in one file at /llms-full.txt.

MCP server

The MCP server at https://manicat.dev/api/mcp speaks Streamable HTTP and needs no key for free items. Point an assistant at it to search the library, read docs and fetch source.

claude mcp add --transport http manicat https://manicat.dev/api/mcp

A prompt that works

Give your assistant the registry URL rather than screenshots, and ask for the behaviour, not the pixels:

Use @manicat. Read https://manicat.dev/r/registry.json to resolve dependencies, install items with the shadcn
CLI, and keep the design tokens from manicat-foundation. Match the existing page: same radius scale, same text
scale, no focus rings.

That is enough for an assistant to install a component, keep it consistent with what is already on the page, and stay inside the token system.
